Komatsu Announces New U.S. HQ
Komatsu Ltd., the second-largest global manufacturer and supplier of earth-moving equipment for the construction, surface and underground mining, and forestry industries, recently announced an upcoming move to a new U.S. headquarters. In 2020, the company’s Komatsu America subsidiary will move from its current location in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, to nearby Chicago. The new location is just over 14 miles from the current HQ and is expected to cause little disruption for current employees of the company.
Movin’ On Up
According to company officials, the new facility located at Triangle Plaza, 8770 West Bryn Mawr Ave, offers an open floorplan and covered parking. Employees and clients will also be able to take advantage of the new location’s nearby health clubs, hotels, and various restaurants. Getting around should also be easier thanks to ready access to major highways, convenient public transportation, and close proximity to O’Hare International Airport.
Komatsu America Chairman and CEO Rod Schrader considers the move a key factor in making Komatsu “competitive and attractive to prospective employees living in the city and studying at nearby universities.” Schrader also expects current employees will appreciate the new building amenities, convenient access to affordable mass transit, and a floorplan that will improve interactions and productivity between teams working on different projects.
