Demag To Offer Crane Inspection Seminars in 2019
Demag Cranes and Components has announced the dates for its Crane Inspection Seminars coming up next year. The 3-day, hands-on courses on proper inspection techniques will be taught by factory-trained experts at the Demag Training Center, not far from Cleveland, Ohio.
The upcoming dates in 2019 for the training seminars are May 6 to 8, September 9 to 11, and December 9 to 11.
“Our Crane Inspection Seminar is a great course for crane inspectors and those who supervise crane inspectors,” says Andrew Rasch, Demag Service Training Manager. Past courses have also been beneficial to production and maintenance managers, safety professionals, and plant engineers, the company says.
Topics To Be Covered
Demag’s experts will go over service and maintenance requirements for the firm’s cranes, both new and old. Specifically, they’ll talk about inspection of wire rope and sheaves, endtrucks, motors, chain hoists, and reducers as well as wear limits, how to measure wear, and inspection procedures specific to Demag. You’ll learn how often to inspect your cranes, how to keep records of inspections, and how to come up with your own crane safety program.
“The course covers OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and CMAA safety guidelines in addition to Demag’s manufacturer’s requirements so you get a well-rounded view of inspection,” Rasch says. The instructors will focus on the ways that the OSHA regulations, ANSI/ASME standards, and CMAA Spec. 78 guidelines specifically apply to Demag cranes.

The course number is 620 and the cost of the class is $1,400 USD per person. Lunches are provided. There will be an exam at the end of the three days, and a manufacturer’s training certificate for those who pass it. You can sign up at http://bit.ly/DemagTraining .
