Hiab Wins 2018 Quality Organization Of The Year Award

    Posted On: December 4, 2018

Hiab, a Cargotec subsidiary, recently received the Quality Organization of the Year Award from The Chartered Quality Institute. The award was presented at the 2018 International Quality Awards event held in London, England, on November 21. Hiab won based on its “culture of quality” that permeates throughout every facet of the company.

“When customers invest in Hiab they know they are investing in equipment and solutions created to the highest international standards,” says Joakim Andersson, senior vice president, cranes, at Hiab. “We are incredibly proud to be able to call ourselves Quality Organization of the Year. This is a great achievement by the whole Hiab organization.”

    Rededication To Quality

Starting in 2015, Hiab put policies in place to ensure the quality of all of its products and services. The company says it has since seen “a notable reduction in claims and non-conformities.” In July of this year, various business units within Hiab earned ISO certifications with an emphasis on quality, sustainability issues, and the health and safety of employees. The company’s management structure was also audited to make sure customer feedback was properly informing internal initiatives.

“It's all about the quality of how we run our business and listen to the customer. Customers demand more than high quality products. They expect a quality experience throughout the lifecycle of their product,” says Tobias Bunne, quality and product support director at Hiab. “We're very happy to be recognized by our customers and the Chartered Quality Institute for the quality work across our organization. I would in particular like to thank my Hiab colleagues who have made the seamless transition to the new and stricter standards possible.”
