In late August, Manitowoc Cranes took four of its machines to the three-day 4th National Congress of Industrial Cranes. The event took place in Irapuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. The company also brought a virtual Grove crane simulator for customers to demonstrate their operation skills.

“This congress presents a great opportunity to explain to a very specialized and excited crowd the advantages of using Manitowoc cranes on the job site, aiming to ensure higher and faster return on investment,” says Alberto Camarillo, regional business manager for the National Crane product line in Latin America.

    Grove & National Models

The Grove all-terrain cranes Manitowoc brought to the show both use just one Tier 4 Final-compliant engine instead of two to save fuel. The GMK5150L is a 175-ton (159-metric ton) crane, while the compact GMK4100L-1 can lift 115 tons (104 metric tons). Both feature a 197-foot (60-meter) boom.

Next, the Grove YardBoss YB5520 carry deck crane has a pivoting nose at the end of its 54.5-foot (16.6-meter) boom. It’s designed to be highly maneuverable and can lift a maximum of 20 tons (18 metric tons).

Finally, the National Crane NBT45 comes with a 161-foot (49.1-meter) boom, although shorter options are available down to 103 feet (31.4 meters). The boom truck can lift up to 45 tons (40.8 metric tons).

    An Annual Event

More than 800 visitors attended the annual congress, which is put on by the Mexican Association of Cranes, Equipment and Industrial Devices (AGEDI). Mexican Grove and National Crane dealers Sitsa, Tracsa, and Ameco were among the exhibitors.

CraneTrader.com is your leading source for new and used Grove all-terrain cranes, including the GMK5150L and GMK4100 families, along with the Grove YardBoss YB5520 carry deck and National NBT45 boom truck. There are other Grove all-terrain and carry deck cranes, new and used National mounted boom truck cranes, and new and used Manitowoc cranes on the site as well.
