Manitowoc Demos Crane Technologies at M&T Expo in São Paulo, Brazil
Crane manufacturer Manitowoc headed to São Paulo, Brazil, November 26 to 29 for M&T Expo 2018, one of the biggest tradeshows in Latin America. There, the company met with contractors, engineers, and construction and mining executives not only from Brazil, but also Bolivia, Peru, Chile, and other countries.
“Our customers in Brazil are eager to know what is going on in the market and the innovations that are transforming the industry,” said Rene Porto, sales director for Manitowoc Brazil. “At this year’s M&T, we [presented] technologies developed at Manitowoc that were based on feedback from customers to maximize the return on investment for their businesses, which is our ultimate goal.”
Straight From The Experts
Manitowoc crane experts led discussions at the show on new Grove all-terrain models including the GMK4100L-1, GMK5150 and GMK5250L. Small but powerful, these new Grove mobile telescoping units also excel on the road with swift highway speeds.
The company also brought a cab equipped with its Crane Control System (CCS) operating platform, so that customers could witness its simplicity and usability.
Read Your Crane’s Error Codes
Also on display at the Manitowoc booth was a simulator showcasing the manufacturer’s MAXbase system. MAXbase uses asymmetrical outriggers to help a crane get into narrow work spaces. It also helps boost load capacities in those tight situations.
Finally, Manitowoc demonstrated its diagnostic smartphone app, which it says is an industry first. The app acts as an error code reader so you can see what your crane’s onboard control system is trying to tell you. This can make troubleshooting much quicker, which means less costly downtime.
