UK Crane Supplier HTC WOLFFKRAN Buys Second Grove All-Terrain Unit
In late 2018, UK crane supplier HTC WOLFFKRAN took possession of a new Grove GMK6300L-1 crane, according to Grove parent company Manitowoc. The company already acquired another Grove all-terrain crane, a GMK5250L, earlier in the year, and showed it off at Vertikal Days 2018, the UK and Ireland’s largest lifting equipment event.
“We’re extremely happy with both of our Grove purchases this year,” says Dave Holder, HTC WOLFFKRAN’s managing director. “WOLFFKRAN prides itself on setting standards in technology and service, and Grove cranes help us to provide for our customers’ every need.”
Capable Lifting
The six-axle GMK6300L-1 is an all-terrain crane with a 350-ton (300-metric-ton) capacity, a 263-foot (80.2-meter) main boom, and a 122-foot (36.9-meter) jib. Its maximum tip height is 394 feet (120 meters). At full height, it can lift 15.4 tons (14 metric tons) and work with the load inside a 50- to 90-foot (15- to 28-meter) radius. It differs from the base GMK6300L, Grove says, with better load charts at longer boom lengths and with heavier loads.
The First One
The GMK5250L is also an all-terrain model, but with a 300-ton (250-metric-ton) maximum capacity and five axles. With its 230-foot (70-meter) main boom and 69-foot (21-meter) jib, it can attain a maximum tip height of 360.9 feet (110 meters).
