Demag Develops Overhead Crane Kits: Just Add Girder

Demag Cranes and Components has launched new kits for customers who want an overhead Demag crane, but who want to design and fabricate their own girder(s) for it. The kits are also suitable for customers who don’t want to pay to have a heavy factory girder shipped to their location.

“By creating crane kit packages, customers get all the quality and reliable Demag components tailored to the crane they are building,” says Demag Product Manager for Universal Cranes & Wire Rope Hoists, Marie Harvey.

Everything But The Girder

The new Demag Crane Kits are for single-girder, double-girder, and suspension cranes for either single- or double-crab operation. The company will match the right hoist to your requirements, with maintenance-free truck and travel unit bearings and spheroidal-graphite cast-iron travel wheels. Demag says the hoist will have a large hook path, low sway, and gentle load handling via variable travel and lifting speeds.

The company packages the power supply components as pre-assembled sub-assemblies to make them easy to hook up.

“We have optimized our Crane Kits by making them user-friendly with plug-and-play connections,” says Harvey. “This, coupled with the reliability and quality of Demag, creates the optimum package for your next project.”

By default, a hanging pendant control comes with the Crane Kit, but you can opt for DRC-MP radio control. The system is radio-ready, Demag says, and can match your preferred radio setup. An optional handheld transmitter comes with either proportional pushbuttons or joystick controls.
