Tadano of Takamatsu, Japan, has finalized its acquisition of Demag Mobile Cranes for $215 million, the company says.

As a subsidiary of the Tadano Group, the Demag mobile cranes business’ legal entity name will be changed to Tadano Demag GmbH in the following weeks. Jens Ennen is the CEO of the new company.

    Synergies & Efficiencies

Demag and Tadano have already collaborated for nearly three decades in TFG, or Tadano Faun GmbH. “With highly complementary offerings between the two brands’ all-terrain product lines, Tadano Ltd. can leverage tremendous synergies throughout the value chain,” the company says.

“The Tadano Group’s strategy is to become the global leader in the lifting equipment industry and the premier choice with our customers. The Demag Mobile Cranes acquisition is one vital step toward achieving that goal,” says Tadano Ltd. CEO and president, Koichi Tadano. “It expands our penetration into many markets throughout the world, adds lattice boom crawler cranes to our overall product line, and enhances the capacity range of our all-terrain cranes.”

    Combined Product Lines

Demag brings eight lattice boom crawler cranes to the new Tadano lineup. The crawlers’ lift capacities range from 440 to 3,525 tons (400 to 3,200 metric tons). Demag also contributes 15 all-terrain cranes ranging up to 1,320 tons (1,200 metric tons) of lift capacity.

The new, combined entity now boasts more than 80 models of lifting equipment, including rough-terrain cranes, telescopic boom crawler cranes, truck cranes, and more.

Find The Right Tadano Demag Crane

“As our journey with Demag begins, our most immediate goal is ensuring ‘Business as Usual’ for current Demag customers,” Tadano says. “By working together, we can better respond to our customers’ needs and give them greater added value than ever before.”

CraneTrader.com offers a fine selection of new and used Tadano and Demag cranes, including a number of Demag all-terrain and lattice boom crawler models.
