The Manitowoc Company recently added the NBT60L to its National Crane boom truck product line. The 60-ton (54-metric-ton) product offering features the longest boom length in its tonnage class, with 151 feet (46 meters) of main boom and a maximum main boom height of 161 feet (49 meters). The NBT60L can also be equipped with an optional 36-foot (11-meter) offsettable lattice jib that reaches a maximum tip height of 196 feet (60 meters).
Ideal For Oil, Gas & Utility
“The oil and gas and utility sectors were in mind when we added a new 60-U.S.-ton National Crane model with a longer boom option,” says Bob Ritter, product manager of boom trucks at Manitowoc. The company says the NBT60L is ideal for work in the oil and gas industry, as well as utility sectors because of its long main boom and stout turntable design, which minimizes machine flex. The 161-foot maximum main boom height is also able to hold tools above well heads or lifting and set long utility poles in place.
“The longer five-section boom, offsettable jib, tilt cab and diagnostics tools all enable customers to work more efficiently,” Ritter says. “And while they’re operating the crane, it will be far more comfortable, thanks to the new cab features. This is an extremely versatile crane that can be used on a wide variety of applications.”
Additional Features
Manitowoc designed the NBT60L to be operator-friendly, with it tilt cab with heated seat, color graphical display, and real-time diagnostics for simplified troubleshooting without the need of a laptop. Additional features include electric over hydraulic controls with speed adjustability, hydraulically removable counterweight, fully integrated wireless wind speed indicator, and an optional multiple camera system for increased job site visibility.
