Link-Belt Planning A Large Presence At CONEXPO Next Month
Link-Belt Cranes will be well represented at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show in Las Vegas, Nevada, taking place March 10 to 14. Just a few of the units on display at booth F5211 include rough-terrain cranes—the 100-ton (90-metric-ton) 100|RT and the 120-t (110-mt) 120|RT—and the 110-t (100-mt) HTC-86110 telescopic truck crane. CONEXPO will also mark the North American unveilings of the 175-t (150-mt) 175|AT, Link-Belt’s newest five-axle all-terrain crane, and the 300-t (273-mt) 348 Series 2 lattice crawler crane.
SmartFly A Common Thread
Although the various models on display have many innovative features, Link-Belt’s SmartFly technology is a key addition on models being shown at CONEXPO. SmartFly makes it easier and faster to erect and stow Link-Belt cranes. On Link-Belt’s rough-terrain cranes, for instance, front carrier-mounted boom controls allow for raising and lowering the boom at ground level throughout the procedure. Color-coded spring-loaded latches indicate which fly length is being erected or remaining stowed. And when it returns to the stowed position, a hydraulic cylinder and ramp release the fly.
The All-Terrain 175|AT
As one of the more loaded cranes in the Link-Belt lineup, the 175|AT provides effective reach and capacity, as well as efficient transport from jobsite to jobsite. Link-Belt powers the 175|AT with a 15-liter, 580-horsepower (432-kilowatt) Cummins QSX15 engine, and the five-axle all-terrain crane also features all-wheel ABS disc brakes, engine and powertrain braking, and speed dependent all-wheel steering. The main boom can reach 197 feet (60 meters) and features six sections of pin and latch telescopic boom that ride on Link-Belt’s greaseless wear pads. The lattice boom extensions expand the 175|AT’s reach to 315 ft (96 m).
