Demag Maintaining Operations In The US & Canada
Demag Cranes & Components Corp. has announced that its U.S. and Canadian operations remain open and operational during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor of Ohio issued an order April 7 declaring the crane manufacturer an “essential business” allowed to maintain its production processes and shipments while following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to prevent further spread of the coronavirus. Demag notes that its dealer network in the U.S. and Canada supports other essential businesses.
Monitoring Government Responses
“While the ultimate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains is not yet known and will likely continue to change based on the rate of infection, our global procurement organization continues to take steps to provide for continued shipment and delivery of needed goods and materials,” Demag says. The company notes that many of its employees are working from home. “Though we are all operating in very challenging circumstances, we are committed to the safety of our employees and to the service of our dealer network.”
