Grove TMS9000-2 & TMS500-2 Truck Cranes Provide Versatility For Nebraska-Based Lifting Provider

Lift-All Crane Service’s most recent additions to its distinctive baby blue-colored fleet include two new Grove truck cranes. The Grove TMS9000-2, added in 2018, has become a favorite for both heavy lifting and lighter residential work due to the removable counterweight and responsive handling. And the TMS500-2, received in Spring of 2020, is a lightweight truck-mounted crane that offers quick setup and taxi crane versatility. The two newer Groves machines join Lift-All Crane Service’s first-ever truck crane, a Grove TMS528B acquired in 1987 that the company still uses when necessary.

    A Flexible 100-Ton Crane

Grove’s TMS9000-2 filled a valuable role in Lift-All Crane Service’s fleet, which had previously lacked a 100-ton option. “We had 80-t cranes and 120-t cranes, so there was always this ambiguous middle ground, but the TMS9000-2 has filled that void,” says Lift-All owner Joe Hylok. “It worked out fantastic; it really hit the ground running.”

The removable counterweight feature helps Lift-All use the crane across many different sectors, including roofing, cell towers, trusses, steel erection, and HVAC. “One of the great things about the crane is that it has the ability to wear a lot of hats. If we have a heavier pick, we can add extra counterweight later, meaning that’s an extra 12,000 pounds the crane doesn’t have to carry on the road,” Hylok explains. “We can just take the crane along with one small support truck for the extra counterweight; it’s the perfect little package.”

    Advanced Accessibility

The TMS9000-2 features a Megaform six-section boom that extends from 36 to 169 feet (11 to 51.5 meters). “Previously, we would always put a jib on our 80-t crane when setting pools in swim spas, but even without a jib on the TMS9000-2, we can set a pool at 150 ft,” says Hylok. “It’s just incredible to be able to go that far without putting a jib on!”

CraneTrader.com is a great resource to locate your next new or used Grove crane. The wide selection of Grove telescopic boom trucks, for example, includes for-sale listings for both TMS9000 and TMS500 cranes.
