New GR-13000XL-4 Expands Tadano’s Rough-Terrain Crane Offerings Into 130-Ton Weight Class

Tadano says its new GR-1300XL-4 offers the longest boom of any rough-terrain crane in the 130-ton (118-metric-ton) weight class, thanks to a six-section boom that can extend up to 183.7 feet (56 meters) using a telescoping pinning system. Safety is also a priority with the GR-1300XL-4 and the crane comes equipped with the Tadano View System, a three-camera setup that offers right-front, rearview, and blind-spot views to assist with safe crane operation and driving. This system works in combination with Tadano’s Clearance Sonar system, which uses four proximity sensors set into the rear fender of the crane to audibly and visually alert the operator of any obstacles behind, while also serving as a blind spot warning system.

GR-1300XL-4 Specs

The GR-1300XL-4 comes with a self-removable 19.8-t (18-mt) counterweight and features a compact carrier length of just 28 feet (8.5 meters) on a two-axle system for easy transportation to the jobsite. When fully extended to its 183.7-foot height, the crane can lift up to 20,900 pounds (9,480 kilograms) with a boom angle from 40 to 50 degrees. The maximum load radius is 175 feet (53.3 m) with the boom and can extend up to 237.9 feet (72.5 meters) with the boom and jib. Tadano’s “Smart Chart” feature expands the crane’s working area from a traditional circular space to a square one, which Tadano says improves both safety and efficiency. Powering the GR-1300XL-4 is a Cummins B6.7 engine capable of producing a maximum of 280 horsepower (209 kilowatts) and 850 pounds-foot (1,152 Newton meters) of torque.

Telematics Web Information Service

Tadano’s HELLO-NET telematics web information service records the crane’s operation and maintenance data using mobile communications and its positional information through GPS. The GR-1300XL-4 also features HELLO-DATA LINK to connect the crane to mobile devices via wireless LAN, giving operators and fleet managers easy access to all of the crane’s recorded data in real time to help streamline crane maintenance and prevent unplanned downtime.
