Crane and work platform rental contractor Herrmann & Wittrock, part of the Wittrock Group, recently acquired three new Liebherr mobile cranes as part of an effort to modernize its fleet. Last year the company took 10 new cranes from Liebherr and already has more on order for this year. The most recent acquisitions, an LTM 1040-2.1, an LTM 1055-3.2 and an LTM 1150-5.3, were delivered to the German company’s headquarters in Hof to be fitted with accessories before heading to their final destination in Bayreuth.

Herrmann & Wittrock was founded in 2005. In addition to its locations in Hof and Bayreuth, the company also has outlets in Bavaria, Saxony, and Brandenburg. The company now operates more than 50 mobile cranes, many of which come from Liebherr.

“Over the past few years, we have bought all our new cranes from Liebherr,” says Managing Director Johannes von Sobbe.

    The Two-Axle LTM 1040-2.1

The LTM 1040-2.1 has a four-piece 115-foot (35-meter) telescopic boom that can be extended with infinite adjustment to any length using a hydro-mechanical telescoping system, even while bearing a load. The folding jib has a radius of up to 125 ft (39 m). The crane has a maximum load of 45 tons (40 metric tons) and a maximum hoist height of 144 ft (44 m).

    The 65-Ton LTM 1055-3.2

This three-axle all-terrain crane offers high lifting capacities with full and part ballast. The fully automated support levelling and ballasting systems have advanced keyhole technology for quick setup. The LTM 1055-3.2 has a maximum load capacity of 65 t (55 mt) and a maximum hoist height of 184 ft (56 m) with a 131-ft (40-m) telescopic boom.

“None of our cranes is more than five years old,” says Managing Director Oliver Herrmann. “We will be receiving more cranes during 2022, which we have ordered to keep our fleet up to date and to expand our crane fleet at our various outlets. We continue to place our trust in the excellent quality and reliability of Liebherr cranes. What is more, its aftersales service is unbeatable.”

Another LTM 1150-5.3 will be delivered before the end of the year. Herrmann says his company ordered the 170-t (150-mt) crane because it has the latest technology on the market and is the successor to the LTM 1130-5.1, which Herrmann & Wittrock has had a lot of success with.
