Magis Adds Power To Its Fleet With New Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 All-Terrain Crane

Italian crane and heavy haulage contractor Magis S.r.l. recently acquired a new Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 all-terrain crane, the most powerful crane in its fleet to date. The Taranto-based company says high technology standards, safety, and sustainability influenced their choice. The LTM 1750-9.1 also offers the power and flexibility Magis wanted for its fleet.

Building A Liebherr Fleet

For nearly 40 years, Magis has worked in a variety of sectors, performing jobs such as the erection and removal of metal structures, bridges, and viaducts for road and rail, as well as work on houses and factories. For the last four years, the company has been expanding and updating its fleet, which is now almost completely made up of new Liebherr mobile cranes. Magis also plans to purchase an LTM 1650-8.1 in the near future.

“The reasons for the investment in such an important vehicle are very wide-ranging and varied,” says Andrea Caroppi, technical and commercial director and member of the Board of Directors at Magis S.r.l. “The new crane expands the capacity of our portfolio. As for all the other new machines in our fleet, the decision was made to purchase from Liebherr because the company stands for technical reliability, performance, innovation, and an eye for detail.

“At the end of all our deliberations, we decided on a Liebherr telescopic mobile crane, which delivers a high level of mobility as well as short set up times whilst also being powerful in its various configurations,” Caroppi says.

About The LTM 1750-9.1

The nine-axle LTM 1750-9.1 all-terrain crane has a 900-ton (816-metric-ton) lifting capacity with a 171-foot (52-meter) boom and a maximum hoist height of 499 ft (152 m). The self-erecting crane can carry its complete telescopic boom while driving on public roads for easy transport and set up. A high lifting capacity from its Y-telescopic boom guying and variable boom system enables the LTM 1750-9.1 to perform a myriad of jobs in infrastructure, energy, and other industries. Magis will use its LTM 1750-9.1 on a variety of projects, including construction and demolition of structures for steelworks and chemical plants and on windfarms.

“We believe that a crane of this type and capacity will enable us to complete hoisting work which has previously been beyond us, for example for the erection of wind turbines,” says Caroppi.
