Morrow Equipment Expands Fleet With Liebherr 340 EC-B, 470 EC-B, 357 HC-L & 125 K Tower Cranes
Morrow Equipment is the exclusive distribution of Liebherr-manufactured tower cranes in Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Based in Salem, Oregon, the company boasts a massive fleet with more than 560 cranes, and the most recent additions include a wide selection of new Liebherr flat-top cranes, luffing-jib cranes, and fast-erecting cranes.
“Liebherr has been a great partner for over four decades, and we continue to reinforce that relationship,” says Peter Juhren, president and COO of Morrow. “We share the same passion for the best equipment, backed by Morrow’s local network of service locations, technicians, and over $23 million dollars in spare parts stocked locally. Our customers have to come to expect the same quality and service wherever their project may be.”
EC-B Series Flat-Top Cranes
With its new 340 EC-B and 470 EC-B flat-top cranes, Morrow Equipment can offer contractors the ability to erect multiple tower cranes in close proximity on a construction site. Liebherr’s 470 EC-B is one of the newest in the EC-B series and is available with 17.6- and 20-ton (16- and 20-metric tons) lift capacities. The 470 EC-B features a 262-foot (80-meter) jib that can be increased to 272 ft (83 m) with an extension. The jib’s 8.2-ft (2.5-m) intermediate sections offer more configuration flexibility than the standard 16.4-ft (5-m) increment. The 340 EC-B flat-top crane features a maximum lift capacity of 13.2 t (12 mt) and a max hook height of 277 ft (84 m).
More On The 357 HC-L
Liebherr says its HC-L series cranes are typically used in skyscraper construction. The horizontal load path function is critical in these types of jobs, providing operators with the ability to focus on positioning the load without simultaneously adjusting the height when moving the load. The 357 HC-L is available in 18/32 Litronic and 12/24 Litronic variants. Both models feature the same 197-ft (60-m) radius, but the 357 HC-L 18/32 Litronic offers a lift capacity of 35.3 t (32 mt) and the 357 HC-L 12/24 Litronic tops out at 26.5 t (24 mt).
The Versatile 125 K
Liebherr designed the fast-erecting 125 K for civil engineering use, such as work on road traffic bridges and the construction of industrial buildings. And with a lift capacity of 8.8 t (8 mt) and hook height of 136 ft (41.5 m), the 125 K is one of the largest fast-erecting cranes available, according to Liebherr. The 125 K offers ten intermediate hook heights, from 63.3 to 136 ft (19.3 to 41.5 m), to scale as needed. Liebherr’s Litronic technology is also on board, increasing safety with an operational range-limiting capability and functionality like the Micromove positioning system.
