    About Truck-Mounted Digger Derricks

A truck-mounted digger derrick is a piece of specialized construction equipment that’s mounted to a truck propelled on a set of wheels, most commonly with air-filled tires. These machines prominently feature a boom-mounted auger on a rotating turret designed to dig holes for a number of industrial and utility applications, including lifting and setting utility poles, setting screw anchors, moving heavy materials, lifting personnel in buckets, and more. Truck-mounted digger derricks are sometimes referred to as “radial boom derricks.”

    Features Of Truck-Mounted Digger Derricks

Truck-mounted digger derricks are often outfitted with one or more winches, pole claws, and guides for help in lifting and setting utility poles. They also tend to require outriggers for added stability when drilling or when working with large, heavy payloads. The term “digger derrick” is often used to describe both the machine that performs the digging, and the vehicle to which the crane-like machine is attached. The boom of the digger derrick unfolds to increase the machine’s horizontal or vertical reach, then folds to make the machine easier to transport. Depending on the size of the vehicle, a truck-mounted digger derrick can be equipped with two or three axles.

Find The Right Truck-Mounted Digger Derrick
