Read More (About Liebherr LTM1070-4.2 Cranes)The Liebherr LTM1070-4.2 is a four-axle, single-engine, all-terrain crane with 36 to 164 feet (11 to 50 meters) of telescopic boom. It has a maximum lift capacity of 80 tons (70 metric tons; figures provided by the manufacturer). One of the LTM1070-4.2’s selling points is its quick setup, because it can carry most of its own counterweights as it travels to the work site. It can reach a top driving speed of 53 mph (85 km/h) and features pneumatic disc brakes.
The LTM1070-4.2 extends its boom with the rapid-cycle, single-cylinder, Telematik telescopic system. Each of the boom’s five telescoping sections can extend independently of the rest. The Liebherr crane can attain a maximum hoist height of 220 feet (65 meters), and it has a radius of 8 to 155 ft (2.5 to 48 m). It can also use a hydraulically adjustable lattice swing away jib or a double swing away jib of 31 to 52 ft (9.5 to 16 m) and with up to 60 degrees of adjustment. Another configuration option involves a 10-ft (3-m) assembly jib, either mechanically or hydraulically adjustable, that also features 60 degrees of range. The LTM1070-4.2 can also use a second hoist gear for two-hook operation or with the swing away jib.
Liebherr gives the LTM1070-4.2 a diesel-hydraulic crane drive, pipe and hose safety valves, and the LICCON2 safe load indicator. The crane cab can tilt up to 20 degrees to the rear for better visibility at height. Travel Time
The Liebherr LTM1070-4.2 comes with all-wheel steering for maneuverability. Its active, speed-dependent, rear-axle steering was developed in-house. The crane comes standard with 4-wheel drive, but 6-wheel drive is an optional feature. The LTM1070-4.2’s sole engine is in the carrier. It’s a 6-cylinder Liebherr diesel with 408 horsepower (300 kilowatts). The crane rides on a hydropneumatic, hydraulically lockable suspension. En route to or from the work site, the LTM1070-4.2 uses a 12-speed ZF-Traxon transmission with an automatic control system and an exhaust retarder for additional braking. Its two-stage transfer case has a locking transfer differential. Another option for the LTM1070-4.2 is a fast changing system for the counterweights. Its standard ballast load is 23,500 pounds (10.7 metric tons); with optional counterweights, the crane’s maximum is 32,000 pounds (14.5 metric tons). Find The Right Liebherr LTM1070-4.2
