Stephenson Equipment Inc. (SEI) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has bought a new 55-ton (50-metric-ton) National Crane NTC55L boom truck, its fourth. The dealer took delivery of the new crane at the ICUEE (International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition) show in Louisville, Kentucky. SEI plans to sell and rent out its NTC55Ls for utility work, tree care, and other applications, it says.

    Compelling Capabilities

“We are very excited to offer a National Crane that has a 151-foot main boom with a 36-foot lattice jib,” says SEI territory manager Darin D’Ascanio. “The NTC55L’s long reach capability plus the quality that customers come to expect from National Crane are unmatched in the industry. With its 205-foot max tip height, the NTC55L makes sense for customers like (Bob’s Crane Service and Bauman Crane), who do larger tree work and service the cell phone tower industry.”

Both Bob’s Crane Service of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Bauman Crane of Chalfont are buying new NTC55Ls from SEI, and both own several National Cranes at this point.

“The NTC55L’s reach is really impressive,” says Bob’s Crane Service owner Rich Nichols. “The 151-foot boom on a commercial chassis, combined with increased roadability and the ability to travel without special permits, will be a big benefit to our daily jobs. We offer true taxi services where we drive cranes to jobs daily, so we are also looking forward to adding this capability to our fleet.”

“National Crane is a widely recognized brand, and we have many of its cranes in our own fleet,” says Bauman Crane President Frank Bauman. “We’re excited about some of the particular features of the NTC55L, such as its ability to set up with a reduced 20-foot outrigger span and its focus on the operator’s comfort.”
